All dental marketing is based on ROI (Return-On-Investment)
“Marginal Profit” is what’s left over for you after the direct costs of providing the dentistry on each addition new patient generated from your Internet marketing efforts. To determine your ROI, or Return-On-Investment, you need only subtract your “Marketing Cost” from your “Marginal Profit”.
1stDDS.com will automatically calculate your Marketing Expense (Mkt. Exp.), Net Profit and ROI. We set up your 1stDDS.com account with Information Portal listings based on the high-value new patient markets and campaigns you selected. To calculate Marginal Profit, we used the estimated value of a new patient you supplied when you registered for the program (See Doctor / Practice Profile). You can adjust the calculation variables at any time using the “ROI Settings” tab.
You can even view the actual new patients generated by the system, just by clicking on the “Patients” tab.
Your Dental ROI report is available to you 24/7 – just login to 1stDDS.com using your user name and password that your will receive as part of your Account Activation meeting.
The following table is a guide to the average Marginal Profit per patient. Obviously, gross fees and lab fees will vary depending on your local demographics and clinical choices. However, you will find it to be an important tool you can use to customize your Internet marketing strategy.

1 Universal Variables are those expenses that are the same (universal) for all types of production. These include office supplies, general dental supplies, telephone, credit card processing cost, etc. Historically, Universal Variables average about 9% of gross production. 2 We use the ADA standard for average Practice Collection Rate of 96%. 3 Marginal Profit Percent is calculated adding the Lab Fee, Universal Variable and Collection loss percents and subtracting from 100%. |
